{"id":6319,"date":"2025-02-18T19:00:06","date_gmt":"2025-02-19T00:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sccpaaa.org\/?p=6319"},"modified":"2025-02-18T19:00:27","modified_gmt":"2025-02-19T00:00:27","slug":"3rd-precinct-february-2025-community-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sccpaaa.org\/?p=6319","title":{"rendered":"3rd Precinct February 2025 Community Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tuesday, February 4, 2025 7pm at the Brentwood Library:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next meeting is Tuesday, March 4, 2025 <strong>11:00AM<\/strong> at the West Islip Library, 3 Higbie Lane, West Islip<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meeting was well attended (approximately 45 people)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Inspector Maronski led the meeting with input as necessary from his Staff and other Officers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; New Leadership&nbsp; have been identified:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Commissioner Kevin Catalina<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DPC Belinda Groneman<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chief Robert Waring<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Precinct Level Advisory Board (PLAB) is and will be a positive force in helping the precinct shape the future<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Lock It or Lose It &#8211; Police continue to stress the importance NOT to leave possessions unlocked \/ unattended and running in the case of vehicles<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Overall numbers for crime are down<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Specific local issues are being addressed via this meeting and COPE efforts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A comparison of 3rd Precinct Crime Stats \u201924 and \u201923 shows an overall decrease in crime.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Coffee with a Cop &#8211; Tuesday, February 25 from 10am to 12noon &#8211; My Town\u2019s Cafe, East Islip<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is still a need for School Crossing Guards.
