4th precinct Inspector Regina ran tonight’s meeting. The meeting was held at the Hauppauge firehouse as there was a scheduling conflict with the library where the meeting is usually held.

Thank you to the Hauppauge Fire Department for hosting this month’s meeting.

SCCPAAA President Kevin O’Hare, Vice President Lauri Murphy, board members Lou Giudice, Jay Jost, Robert Murphy and Marty Greenstein were in attendance.

The guest speaker was the commanding officer of the pistol licensing bureau Lieutenant Komorowski.

The Lieutenant described the process of applying for a pistol license. He stated that there are 45,129 active pistol licenses and 139,000 registered guns in the five western towns that the county police are in charge of. He noted that there are a tremendous amount of applications and the staff is trying to process them in a timely manner.

He also took questions from the residents.

Inspector Regina then reviewed with the residents the police activity in the precinct during the previous month.
