4th precinct Inspector Regina ran tonight’s meeting along with Deputy Inspector Lawler.

SCCPAAA President Kevin O’Hare, Vice President Lauri Murphy and board member Robert Murphy were in attendance.

The Inspector reviewed with the residents the police activity in the precinct during the previous month.

There was an arrest of an individual responsible for multiple larcenies in the 3rd, 4th and 5th precincts. This individual was tracked via GPS using his court ordered ankle bracelet.

Police responding to a report of a subject checking car door handles in Islandia. The area was canvased by officers. When they located the suspect he assaulted the officers as they were questioning him. He was placed under arrest and charged with assault 2nd against a police officer.

Starting this month the 4th precinct will be starting to use body cameras. A presentation was made showing how the cameras work and how they can be an effective tool for law enforcement. The cameras are being placed in service precinct by precinct.

The next 4th precinct community meeting will be held February 7th.
