Dear Alumni Members,

Here are the major first quarter 2024 statistics for the 1st Precinct which held its meeting on April 4, 2024:

7,127 citations;

925 arrests;

22 commercial burglaries;

7 residential burglaries;

10 robberies;

1,338 car crashes;

2 murders;

2 stabbings;

566 larcenies;

36 drug overdoses, 7 fatal;

5 shootings but no one injured;

5 search warrants with drug seizures.

Inspector Brendan Forte, the 1st Precinct Commanding Officer, made the presentation.

Here are several notable comments:

Four women from Queens rented an Uber to allegedly carry out a planned larceny at Kohl’s in Deer Park.  The females were arrested at the scene.  The driver was not implicated and released.

The most Precinct calls are from the Tanger Outlets, Home Depot, and Target.

Several parades with large crowds took place without any incidents.

The Precinct areas with the highest volume of car crashes are Broadhollow Road in East Farmingdale; Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon; Broadway in Amityville; and Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst.

The next Community meeting will be May 2, 2024 at 11 am at the Lindenhurst Library.   All residents are welcome.

Respectfully,

Justin Cooper

1st Precinct Coordinator
