Videos and license plate readers were able to narrow an area that they suspected contained the car. Officers were brought in from surrounding precincts to do a grid search of the area. They interviewed a juvenile who admitted he was out with another person and they stole a car. He denied knowing there was a child in the back seat. He led the officers to the where he left the vehicle in Hauppauge. The child was recovered safely in the back seat after being gone for approximately 5.5hours. Both juveniles were arrested.
