The following members of the Citizens Academy Alumni attended Family Day at Police Headquarters:
Kevin O’Hare, Doug & Erin King, Bob Taylor, Ken-Patrick Johnson and Justin Cooper!
Kevin O’Hare, President of the Suffolk County Civilian Police Academy Alumni Association, was guest speaker at a Kings Park Civic Association meeting. The ceremony was held at the Smithtown Landing Country Club in Smithtown, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Kevin informed the organization of our program and was campaigning for applicants for the 38th class for the Suffolk County Civilian Police Academy. Success, Kevin received 5 applications; a hearty thanks and great job Kevin.
Richard Dormer, of East Northport, served with the Suffolk County Police Department for 38 years, elevating to the position of Police Chief and then appointed the 11th Suffolk County Police Commissioner for eight years from 2004 to 2011.

Following the ceremony, graduates of the 37th Class cordially invite family and friends to a reception in the Police Academy Building. Light refreshments will be served.
